  • Debbie Update

Thank you so much everyone. I have good news. I spoke to Debbie today and she filled me in about what the cyst was. Apparently she had eaten a small bone or shell fragment, or something along that line that had gotten lodged in the wall of her stomach. She thought it was indigestion or something else and didn't see a doctor about it until she was in so much pain that she was in the hospital.

The Doctor has her on IV antibiotics and she is responding well to them. Debbie says that the Doctor will send her home to finish recovering on Wednesday. By the time my sister Ellie and I drove down she would be leaving the hospital. Debbie told me she wants us to wait until she is feeling better to come down to visit so "we'all can have us some fun".  So for the moment our trip down to Arkansas is off. The doctor says that in a couple of weeks once the infection is completely cleared up they will have her back in for arthrosporic surgery to remove what ever is causing the problem but that could take a few weeks on antibiotics first.

Thank you all again for your prayers please continue to pray that the infection clears up all the way so she can get this taken out. Thank you so much again!

  • Urgent Request---My sister

My dear Xanga members and blog readers I need to ask you for help. Last night my sister Debbie was admitted to the hospital in Arkansas with a possible infection of some kind. She had a high fever and stomach pain. Today they discovered a growth in her stomach and have transferred her to a bigger and better hospital to figure out how to help her. I ask you all to pray for her. I know you are not all people of faith but I am asking anyway because I know that is all I can do. Please have anyone willing to pray for her as well. If you attend church tomorrow please ask to put her on your prayer list there. Her name is Debbie Brewster. Thank you so much below is her pictures I took a couple of years ago. She is so young and I can't imagine a world without her.

PS I won't be posting for a while 5+ days as I am meeting my other sister and we are driving down to Arkansas. If I get a chance to update you from our hotel computer I will. Thank you again.

  • Krisha is having a baby!

I couldn't ask for a more relaxed model than Krisha. Even expecting she did everything I asked of her and more. She is having her third girl in a few weeks and the whole family is abuzz with excitement. Poor Scott is even more out numbered than before. Here are a few of my favorites from the day and all of them but the last one have borders with my new software!

  • The Coolest thing---and I never win anything!

The coolest thing happened to me. I was searching the web for some Photoshop Lightroom resources, tip, tricks ect. and I cam across a website called Photoshopsupport.com and they had more than average in their lightroom database so I decided to subscribe to their newsletter to keep up to date. Well when you sign up for the newsletter you are also signed up for a monthly drawing. They give away software that is provided by their sponsors. I though it would be nice but I never win stuff like that. So I picked the software I wanted and signed up. I get an email this week....I WON! I won Auto FX Photo Graphic Edges plugin for Photoshop! That is a $179.00 program!!! WOW! I am thrilled. I was skeptical at first and after a threatening letter to Eric at Photoshop Support, where I threatened to hunt him down if it was a scam, and a favorable response from Eric I got my Photo Graphic Edges software today!!!

I am so thrilled I started playing with it right away. Here is a picture from Stephanie and Andy's engagement album that I used the smudge effect on.

am so happy. It will take a while to figure out every setting because (according to Auto FX) there are over 10,000 different effect combinations I can use. Wow! I am impressed. So go to Photoshopsupport.com and sign up for their newsletter and who knows you might win something too!

  • My beautiful Kate

So my 10 year old daughter got into a mood last night. Just out of the blue at 11pm comes out of her room in all clean clothes and make up done the whole works and says "Look at me aren't I pretty?" And I and I said "Yes you are!" and she stood there for a moment expectantly and I waited a few more seconds and then said. "Do you want me to take your picture?" She nodded and giggled and we set up the background and played for almost an hour. Here are my favorites.

  • Weekend with Aidan

This weekend my house was very full with my Mother-in-law and my brother-in-law and my 8 month old nephew staying with us. It was a great opportunity to catch up on Aidan's pictures. I took his pictures when he was 3 months and I wanted to keep up a regular schedule but he lives 100 miles away and at the distance it is a hard thing to accomplish.

Have you ever seen baby pictures when some of the most expressive poses are ones where the baby is making faces or crying. Aidan is one of those baby's every expression is precious and worth catching. Here are some of my favorites from this weekend.

This a collage I made just for my Mother-in-law. She just couldn't decide which one to frame so I made this for her. I hope she likes it.

  • Catching up with 06 spring break

I take tons of pictures of my family. I have been without any grandparents since my last Grandmother died two weeks before my wedding in 1999. So I am big on making memories for my kids of their grandparents. Last year during spring break we took the kids to their Great Grand parents country home for some fishing. We really had a good time. I took tons of pictures. Here are a few of my favorites. Oh and the blond lady is my mother-in-law. Isn't she pretty?

  • Helping out a friend

I have a photographer friend who in the last two years has had a stroke, went through bankruptcy, got a divorce, and now is still suffering from seizures. She is in Texas undergoing testing by a specialist of Stroke victims trying to stop her seizure problems. Needless to say she cannot not keep her Studio equipment. She really need the money from it to help pay her medical expenses. I have sold some for her and purchased some from her but now I have 4 backgrounds and a lighting setup that needs to be sold. All of the backgrounds are Amvona brand. All are 10x12 except the Natural white or ecru that one is 10x20. I have added the pictures below. Except the black one....I mean black is black right?

    bkground-blue bkground-brown bkground-natural           And there is a 10x12 black one

The White one has a small black streak in the middle if you look closely. If you are interest in any of these to help another photographer with her medical bills any offer is considered. Drop me an email or a Private message if you are interested. I will post pictures of the lights in a little bit. Thanks!

Ok here are the lights. It is a Smith-Victor Lighting Kit FL280 that is sold at B&H Photo for 864.95. It is a good kit but has some wear. The bounce umbrella will need to be replaced as it has a split in a seam of the black backing. The white parts of the soft boxes will need to be washed because they have a slight yellow tint from being in a smoking studio. Everything was in working order when taken down and boxed in 2005 but I have not tested it. All the cables and accessories are included and a soft squeeze trip cord not sold with this kit. Please see pictures below.

  • What kind of english do you speak.

I ran across this on Janey's blog and I just had to check it out. I know I have had alot of voice speach training in college thanks to the broadcasting degree but I wondered how much stuck with me. I guess I have retained most of my broadcasting skills in everyday life. I don't say Y'al', except when I do it on purpose, and to me you bag up groceries not sack them. So I guess all is well. I find it really funny that I grew up in the midwest and I have no midwestern in my english! Here are my results.

    Your Linguistic Profile:
    75% General American English
    10% Upper Midwestern
    10% Yankee
    0% Dixie
    0% Midwestern
