  • Meet Chris

I had alot of fun with Chris a few weeks ago we we had his senior session. He really has the coolest back yard. It was really worth extra trip to his school for his track pictures. They turned out so good. Thanks Chris for being a great Senior.

  • I knew it was going to happen.....

but that dosn't make it any less of a crime. We have lived at our home since the summer of 2000. I have a nice open front porch. I have attemped to decorate it every year with natural elements. Indian corn, gourds, and pumpkins. Out of the 8 years we lived here 6 out of those 8 somone walked into our yard, up onto our front porch and taken our pumpkins and smashed them in the middle of the street. This year I got the cheapest pumpkins I could get so I could have something to put up.  Last night after 1am (when I went to bed) someone didn't smash our pumpkins they just stole them! Took them right off my property. I am so tired of this. I just want a pretty front porch through Thanksgiving. After the smashing spree of 2006 where more half the towns pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns were smashed no one put out pumpkins. I was not going to let them get me. I got the cheap ones. What I want are cement pumpkins that I can paint or that are painted.  I want they to just TRY to smash those! If you know where I can get cement pumpkins I would appriciate the info.

  • I came home from a senior portrait session the other day and I had my camera out of my bag when I came across this little fella in between a couple of rose bushes. I have always loved garden Spiders they are big enough that you can see them but small enough that you are not really freaked out that they are spiders.  I also took this pictures of the rose Hawkeye Belle. I love my Hawkeye Belle she blooms all the time.

  • A Tasty Fall Day--I love BBQ

Monday I took a breather from the computer and realized that it might be the last really nice day we have this year before the fall rains and winter snows come to claim Indiana.  A local butcher shop called Indiana Custom Meats always has great prices so I went down the couple of miles and picked up 15 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breasts. I grilled 10 pounds to freeze for winter and I barbecued 5 pounds with the intention of saving it for winter  but I think I only have 4 pieces left! I was so happy how it all turned out. I don't usually post pictures of food but I was particularly pleased how good they looked and tasted.

    Dear Kingsford Charcoal Company,

Your charcoal makes my food look like it belongs on Food Network. Makes it taste that way too!

LOL! I think I will have another piece for lunch today!

  • Alex and Kate - A Day in the Sun

Recently I had the pleasure of working with Alex and Kate for their annual portrait session. With the addition of a few furry friends.  I really love their bunny. We had lots of time so we along with the normal portraits we did some fun stuff in their back yard. Wow is Alex fearless when it comes to his backyard trees.

I am still experimenting with more brushes. I am really having fun with all the brushes I am finding and everything I have been making into brushes.

  • Micah and Leah - an experiment in textures & brushes

Micah and Leah are two really great kids. When their mother called me about portraits this summer I told her it might take me until October to get them finished (as weddings have priority) I was so pleased when that was not a problem. Because Micha and Leah's was so generous with allowing me time to work I was able to use Micah and Leah's pictures to learn more about textures and different photoshop paintbrush techniques. I know some don't care of this but I am offering the unpainted pictures to Micah and Leah's family also.  This is a new experiment for me. Let me know what you think.

  • The loss of an epic novel writer

Yesterday the world could no longer hold James Oliver Rigney, Jr., --Pen name--- Robert Jordan.

Words do not come easy for me so I will copy and paste what was said on the BLOG of Andrew Wheeler:

According to a post this evening on his blog, bestselling fantasy author Robert Jordan died this afternoon at his home in Charleston, South Carolina after a long battle with a form of cancer. He had been diagnosed with primary amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy in March of 2006 and had received several rounds of chemotherapy treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for his condition.

Jordan was best known for the still-unfinished "Wheel of Time" series: eleven novels and a prequel had been published before his illness. The status of the projected final novel, A Memory of Light, is unknown at this time. Jordan had also written a number of well-received "Conan" novels and a number of historical novels under the name Reagan O'Neill.

I recently became a fan for Robert Jordan books and over the summer while I was working on album and pictures listened to the entire 11 book Wheel of Time Series on audio book. My hubby and I have all 11 books as well. I greave for the loss his family must be going though and I greave for the loss of the only person who could put an ending on the Wheel of Time series of stories. It is rumored that knowing his time was short Robert Jordan had stopped trying to write A Memory of Light and was dictating key points and plot lines to is nephew and wife. His book series Infinity of Heaven will most likely never be written Jordan said on the locusmag.com "I've already signed contracts for an unrelated trilogy called Infinity of Heaven, which I'm very excited about. I've been poking that idea around in my head for 10 or 12 years." There is a great deal of speculation about his unfinished works but all I know is that Harriet lost her best friend and I grieve for her.

The official Robert Jordan website is down so it is impossible to leave a comment at this time. Pray for the family. I am sure they need as much support as they can. I have read what an amazing man Mr. Rigney was I wish I coudl have met him.

  • Lori and Tom--My first Bella Pictures wedding

Just recently I started contracting for Bella Pictures. It is really a nice way to fill in those empty weekends when your own photography business is a little slow and it is nice to have the extra income too! :)

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of having Lori and Tom be my first Bella Bride and Groom. I browsed the pictures and picked out a few of my favorites as I was making copies for Bella.  Here are my favorites from  Lori and Tom's wedding.
