Last Saturday they started the salvage operation of the Myer's house. Taking out the flooring, trim, cabinets and anything they can reuse when they build the new house. I spend 3 hours there with the volunteers. There was one little boy that just captured my attention. He wanted so badly to work like the grown men and really did work hard to help as much has he could. His heart was so pure and pointed to service that when he had to leave for Soccer tryouts he was disappointed that he had to leave. The date to bulldoze the house in April 15. I will be there with bells on.

Lizzie Bee---One year Portraits
Well I haven't updated the blog since Wednesday because I have been crazy busy. Thursday I went up to Michigan and finally did Lizzie's one year portraits. She had been sick right after her birthday and this was the first chance I had to do them. I am not done with the session but I needed a break so here are a few of my favorites so far. The last picture is Lizzie with my Mom.
Here are a few more I am adding to this post. A few candid of Lizzie and a couple with her 5 year old brother Russell.

I need a home---Meet Frazzle
A week ago I walked into the kitchen and at the top of the steps to our sliding patio door was a very thin very frazzled kitten. Ok so she is most likely around 9-10 months old but she is still very small and very cute. Frazzle was sitting staring into the kitchen watching our two fat cats eat with a very sad very hungry look in her eyes. What could I do? I put out a bowl of food and water and an old rug on our front covered porch. Well Frazzle has decided she liked regular meals and is now sleeping comfortably on our front porch. Our house is very small only 1300 square feet so two cats are enough in a house that size or we would keep her. She is very affectionate and playful and has the makings of a lap kitty. SO.....Frazzle needs a home. If you live or will be traveling in Indiana, Michigan, Eastern Illinois, Western Ohio or Northern Kentucky and would like her I will gladly meet you half way if you will provide Frazzle with a good home. Please email me at frazzle@gardenrose.net

Meet my new partner in business
I would like to introduce you to my new business partner the Fuji Finepix S2 Pro. It is funny (strange not ha ha)how I came to acquire this camera. A friend of mine who at one time worked at the Megamart Photo studio started her own studio and for two years really had a nice set up. Then came divorce and a stroke and she simply could not physically handle this camera anymore. My friend asked me to sell it on ebay for her and when I priced it I just decided that I would hand her the cash and buy it from her. It uses Nikon Lenses which I just love and if it takes the quality of pictures I hope it does then I think it will I think my big future camera upgrade will be a Fuji Finepix S5 Pro instead of the Nikon D200. So here (trumpet fanfare) is my new to me camera!

WGNR--Light for the Crossroads
Well Thursday I worked for 8 hours on the phones at WGNR in Anderson taking pledges for their Share 2007. They reached their goal of $850,000 on Friday afternoon at 2:30 which was amazing. That is almost 5 hours earlier than hoped. They even got an extra $10,000 of pledges of people still wanting to give. I love this station very much and the people that work there. The music and teaching programs really help me keep my eyes on The Lord and I am very grateful for that. If you would like to hear it you can by going to their listening page . When I travel I listen to them on my computer.
I managed to take a few breaks during my shift and took some pictures. The gentleman in the blue is Meteorologist Randy Ollis from WISH Channel 8 in Indianapolis he does the weather for WGNR during the morning drive time. The gentleman in the tan is Kirk Hayman he hosts the afternoon show.

Ever wonder......
As you look at your daily footprints on your blog (and I am sure most of you do) do you ever wonder who those regular unregistered users are? I have regular readers from Washington DC, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, and California. They are not Xanga members but I see them read my blog every day or every other day. I wish they could sign into Xanga and leave some feeback. I guess they are entertained by my posts because you keep coming back. So today this post is for you. Welcome nameless friends I am glad to have you visit. I hope you continue to enjoy by blog and never be afraid to....

A time to Share 2007
Today I am volunteering at my favorite radio station to help with Share 2007. Share is a pledge drive to raise money for the operating expenses for the station. Even though WGNR is owned by Moody Bible Institute so they cannot operate alone. WGNR does not sell advertising either so once a year they have 4 days where they raise the money to make up the difference. I love my WGNR. Like one lady said. WGNR keeps me sane and grounded. "If I listened to country I would have killed myself by now. If I listed to alternative rock I would have killed my husband." I feel the exact same way.
WGNR is streaming on the web. You can listen here. It's my "Light for the Crossroads".

The House on the Rock
I was recently drafted by a friend of mine, to do some work on her PBS style documentary. She is telling the story of the Myers family. about 7 years ago they purchased a neighborhood revitalization home in the middle of a run down neighborhood. Let's just say they are also the racial minority. One of their goals by moving into this neighborhood was to be a safe haven for the neighborhood children and teens. Give them a home to go to when their families were not there. They have had hundreds of children come into their home over the last few years until recently. The Myers family noticed there was something seriously wrong with their new house. It was falling in on itself. When the Not for Profit organization that built the house laid the foundation they didn't dig and pour footers. They put the concrete block right on top of the soft sand. The organization is now defunct and there is no legal recourse to fix their home. Local churches and local government officals have not been in the dark to what the Myers family have been doing. With the help of my church and the city's neighborhood revitalization project the Myers are going to be forgiven their mortgage or have part of it paid for them, their house will be salvaged (as much as possible) and them demolished. Then a new home built for them on their existing property. Bringing them back to the neighborhood that they love and that loves them. My friend Andrea is producing the documentary to show how and why this is important to the neighborhood and the city and to the kingdom of God.
I just started taking pictures of the outside of the house Monday. I will get in the house next week before they start to salvage. Here are my favorite pictures.
Also this is one of my first projects using Adobe Lightroom. WOW do I love this software.
