Finished the project for my sister
This is the finished composite of my sister on the left from 1971 and my niece from last month's portrait session. They look so much alike. I think it looks really cool. I saved the PDF with full layers and would appreciate some CC if you have any. I think it is so cute how much alike they look! My mom doesn't have a computer or email so she won't see this. It is a big Christmas surprise for her. -
Saving an important picture
Well after having a great time with the kiddos this weekend I sat down tonight and starting a project for my sister. I am working on a composit picture of my sister at 9 months old in 1971 and then my 9 month old neice. The first step was fixing a scan of a damaged wallet sized picture. I have never done much with restoration but I have this book.......and now you get to see the results of my two hours. One reading over the book and the other working on the picture. I have never really done much restoration work but I think I am getting the hang of it. I hope to offer some restoration options to my customers in the future but for right now I am just practicing. Let me know what you think.

More Computer woes......some improvement
Ok I am actualy typing this on my compter on a super old video card, for right now but here is what happend. The Video card over heated so much that it burned out the AGP slot on the mother board. Now the mother board will need to be replaced to most likely. SIGH.......I wish I had the funds for all of this. At least if any clients order pictures I will be able to upload them to the printing company in a timely manor. Hang in there I should have more interesting posts once this ordeal is all over.

Computer woes
Who knew that fans inside your computer where so important......well I did but they just don't announce to you HEY! I am clogged or I don't work anymore! My video card's fan died yesterday and now I feel very disconnected for a few days. If you order any pictures from your events or weddings they may be delayed 1-2 days since cannot upload what I cannot see. Hang in there you should still recieve them in the 2 weeks promised.
It suprises me how much of my life is on that comptuer, calander, contact informaion, my email account informaion. I can still check email but I really miss outlook. Hubby's laptop just dosn't have that cozy comfey feeling my rose filled desktp does. Well tomorrow I pick of the new video card and things get back to normal. I can hardly wait!

Children are harder to photograph when they are older
I love taking pictures of my kids but I tell you they are getting harder and harder to photograph. I took my kiddos to a photographer I know and had her shoot some things in her studio and then I took them home and tweaked them to my preferences and I tell it you it took two pictures to make this one. I had to totally replace my son's head from another pictures to make them both look good. It was really difficult. The tickling stick has lost it's magic. Now that I see them on my wall though I just look at them during the day and think, "My goodness how they have grown!" Compare them from 1998 until now. I can hardly believe how big they are getting. My little girl in 4th grade is reading at an 8th grade level and my little 3rd grader has the math skills of a 6th grader! I am so proud of both of them!

Parent teacher conferences today
Parent teacher conferences are today. Our kids live like 66% of their year with their mom in Terre Haute (long story and bad situation) so we really have to struggle to stay involved in their schooling. This is the first year since Kindergarten where the teachers remembered to send us information about parent teacher conferences and we are attending on a regular conference day. It is so hard to get teachers to understand how in the dark we are kept and the kiddo's education. I wish they would understand and help us fill the gaps their mother leaves. Ok there is my soap box. I don't want to rant because I could go on and on. I am just super glad we get to see them and I hope we get to take them out to dinner.
We are also picking up Hubby's birth certificate so we can get his passport! only 75 days and 22 hours!

After 7 years......finally a honeymoon trip
Hubby and I will have our 7th annavasery on December 4th. We got married the week before our college finals and before college graduation so needless to say we didn't have a long romantic honeymoon. So finally after 7 years we are taking a honeymoon trip! What a trip it is going to be! We are going to Nasseau in the Bahamas and staying at the Royal Bahamian in January. I am so excited! We managed to get the rooms 45% off since we booked in October and our orgional flights were canceled so the new flights the Sandal's person found for us were even $50 cheaper a ticket! How exciting. This is only my second time flying and I am just as excited to fly and I am to see the ocean for the first time. The only ocean I have ever seen is an ocean of corn or soybeans. Well when you live and grow up in Indiana you don't get to go may places.
Now I am franticly looking for Swimsuits and beach wear since most of the clothes I wear in the summer are arround the house Mom type clothes. I really need to find something cool and cute. Now I can imagine how hard this is for an average woman who shops in the Ladies departsmants in Malls but can you imagine how hard this is for a plus size gal? OMGoodness!
So to sum it all up! ONLY 76 days left! ACK! I am so excited!

9 Month pictures of Elizabeth Jane aka Lizzie Bee
I just finished editing a portrait shoot I did for my sister of my niece Elizabeth. They call her Lizzie Bee right now and the whimsical name really fits her beautiful smile. She has the darkest eyes and just smiles at anything you do. Her hair right now kind of looks like a troll doll. When you blow on it is behaves the same way too! She is just the cutest!

My new Nephew Brian Adian Leon
My little nephew has a big new name. His parent's couldn't decide and so he got all three. I am calling him Adain because his Grandfather is Brian and I really don't want to get any more confused with names so Adain it is. Leon was his great great Grandfather's name (he passed away last year). He is so big. He is about 3 months old right now and is such a good baby. His hair is longer than it looks because it curls and is really thick at the back of his head.
Ohh he is so kissable! Can you tell I love him?
