  • Postcard to Hand out to brides

Here is the back and the front of the post card I will type the text below so you can read it.  I think I may pitch the big rose all together again but I am not sure. Maybe if I just lighten it more 25% instead of 33%.

Here is the text on the back of the card

When you choose Garden Rose Photography as your wedding
photographer you will have up to 10 hours of dedicated,
personal, photography time by your photographer
Candice Haase. I try to capture every important moment
of your day, from your first step into the Salon, to the very
last dance of the evening. I always try to tell your story like
a journalist but with the discretion and professionalism of
    an artist.

At Garden Rose Photography I don’t sell packages I tell stories.
I ask for a reasonable charge for my time and then the things
you purchase are up to you. Why do I do this? Because everyone
    is different.

What I do is create fine art photographs. I also design an
heirloom quality coffee table book, customized by you.
You preview your Heirloom Album predeisng via the internet
and can edit your Heirloom Album up to three times. No album
is ever ordered without your approval. All print ordering is also
done online to assure the best quailty product, service, and price.

Please contact me so I can come meet with you to discuss your
special day. Come into the Garden and let me tell your story.

I think this really tell the way I do business. Personal and thoughful and artful. I really hesitate putting prices on my card because there could be up to 3 other photographers there. What do you think?

  • The Bridal show saga continues.

So I was thinking about over sized postcards as handouts at the birdal show. Would the same design work or should I try to add something it since I have an oversized card to work with?

I was also thinking about carrying over this theme into a huge 24x48 banner for my booth. What do you think about these choices. I know I am picking your brains alot but this is my first show and I want to give a good impression.

So after some careful consideration I opened the rough ad today and I came up with this change in format. Thoughts?

  • Bridal Show Print Ad---Need some feedback

I am participating in my first Bridal show in February. The booth space comes with print advertising in the local newspaper and radio advertising. Radio advertising I can handle but I am a little unsure about print. I am a huge subscriber to KISS (keep it simple stupid).  I have 4 different pictures I am considering for this ad. The ad is small only 4.5 x 2.5 so simple and distinct is important. Tell me what you think.

  • Teach them young--about the Lightsphere

Well Gary said to start using the Lightsphere as soon as possible in your career to take better pictures. Well my 10 month old niece Lizzie took this advice to heart and pulled the Lightsphere off my camera on Christmas and thought it was the greatest thing since she stood up for the first time. The pictures were taken with the flash bounced off the ceiling because she had my lightsphere. That is why her eyes turned out so shadowed but I still think she is just the cutest baby girl I have seen in a while. She was really mad when I had to take it back!

  • Connected Celebrations

Well despite getting the colds that the Kids brought from their mother's this Christmas I have managed to get a few pictures from Christmas Edited. I know to some people this may seem strange but at My family Christmas celebration we celebration and honor Hanukkah along with other Christian traditions because Jesus celebrated it. My sister and her husband love to find the prophecies about the Messiah in the old testament and then apply them to Jesus to show how they are fulfilled through Him. So after all the presents are put away in the cars we light the menorah and then take communion as a family. Then pray together over any member that may be hurt or really having a hard time this last year. It is like giving the whole family a blessing before the new year. I love this part of our Christmas and I think it really gives our kids a dose of the true meaning of Christmas instead of gimmies that always come with Christmas.

Here are a couple of my favorite pictures from that night.

  • Portrait Page on my website.

My website has been a work in progress ever since I decided I know so little about programming that I cannot handle a Flash website. I need something less programming and more graphic design. My hubby would tell me that I am a complete end user. He's a computer programmer! Well last night I spent a couple of hours and finally got my portrait page up and working on my website. I think it looks good. Hubby will tell me that the pictures are too big and that dial up users will not be able to view it very well but I am hoping that this will get in in the mood to work on rebuilding my website as it is acceptable to him.  Sneaky aren't I?  Well for now my website is pretty and informative and I guess that is what really matters right now. Here is the link to my new portraits page.

  • This Christmas Santa Uses Ziploc

Merry Christmas one and all! Thanks for reading my Blog these last couple of months I hope I can continue to hold your interest over the next year.

    ziplocbags

This year at our house Santa Claus is using Ziploc Big Bags to bring presents to all the boys and girls. I know this because I told him how great and helpful these were when Hubby and I were Judging Magic the Gathering at Gencon this year. So Santa gave me two more boxes of bags as a thank you for clueing him in. These are really great for hauling stuff around when you need a lot of containers and they are waterproof in case you might drop something in the snow. I love them and I am going to make sure I use them next year. I hope Ziploc pays me for this endorsement! LOL!

Here is hoping your Christmas is a good one. God bless you and yours this Christmas Day!

  • The New Story Album Fine Art Books

    standingbook

I recently received my first Story Album studio sample. I am so excited. It turned out so well.  I can hardly wait until April and Kyle order it so they can enjoy it as much as I have. I ended up carrying it in my car the last week showing it to those who had requested seeing it as soon as it came in and I seem to get the same wonderful reaction to it. I am very proud to offer a Story Album Fine Art Book to my clients when they choose to let me be their wedding photographer.

  • Andrea's Godly Girls

Today I had a portrait session at the home of Andrea and her Godly Girls. That is what they called their Rocking Arround the Christmas Tree Picture that we took for their Christmas Cards.  We also took some fun pictures in PJ's and in more dressy clothes that were sorta vintage. I thought they turned out pretty good. Here are a few pictures and a link to their slide show.
