  • Wishing for spring.

Over the last few weeks the Rose Catalogs have just been piling up at my house. I seem to find myself sitting in my recliner every evening with my cup of tea dreaming and plotting about my gardens this spring. Who get's "THE SHOVEL" and who stays to bloom another year. Who comes home to Indiana and finds a place in my flower beds. I have pages of garden charts and eraser lint all over my lap but I am happily planning one of natures most beautiful shows. Come spring and hurry this gardener is waiting for you.

I was also working on the Rose of the Month article for the Indianapolis Rose Society website and I found myself flipping through my pictures from last years spring flush of blooms and felt like sharing a bit of spring in the bleak midwinter.

  • wow, you are ultra bright when it comes to this! i only know they're so pretty! :)

  • I love them all; I can't wait until the flowers all start blooming again, I love spring. We have a fenced in back yard with a park like setting behind the studio with flower beds and a pond and waterfall; its so relaxing.  The snow is finally melting ... ya.

  • Every spring I attend the Master Gardener's Tour here in Fresno and last year there was a house that had TONS of all different rose bushes, each with its own carved wooden plaque stating the name of the rose. It was amazing! My true passion is flower photography so this is obviously an event I look forward to each year. I don't have a green thumb in the slightest so I am so thankful for people like you who assist God in giving me so many wonderful blooms to photograph. Your pictures are really nice. I can't wait for spring either!!

  • I love roses ... these look so beautiful!!!  I like "artistry", "freckles", and "double delight" the best.  Which one is rose of the month?

  • Your roses are gorgeous!  I have them, too.  But not 65 varieties.  :)

  • The Rose of the Month posted right now is Scentmental you can see it at http://www.indyrosesociety.org the new one is Rose de Rescht it is a wonderful old garden rose with a great scent. Hubby should update the IRS site today or tomorrow.

Thanks everyone. I will post more rose pictures when they bloom this year. I can hardly wait for spring.
